I’m flying off to South Korea in a few days for a spring break, and I am really looking forward to the cool weather. These pictures were taken from my last holiday there in late spring. We missed the cherry blossoms but were treated to an explosion of spring colours nonetheless.
We reached the Yongsan Observatory about an hour before sunset, so we joined the rest of the people in waiting. The observatory is the best place to go for a macro view of the S-shaped waterway which is so peaceful you can hardly be faulted for thinking it’s land instead of water.
An onslaught of images of the Suncheon Bay Ecological Park is inevitable because I have taken more than a roll of film there, of water and reed fields and sunset. The natural wetland has the largest colony of reeds in Korea, and is famous for attracting rare species of birds onto its shores. I hope you’ll enjoy these pictures as much as I liked the place!
