Of all the cafes I have been to, anywhere, this is one of those I remember most vividly. It’s the kind of place that takes you away from reality temporarily. It has a bit of everything in almost the right amounts – nothing too whimsical or clinical, too bright or too dark – yet overall, maybe a little over-curated in places, but still oozing with character.
I’ve been saving these pictures for a good day, but I got carried away, and it has been perhaps two years since I visited this café and design store in Taipei. But, it is still there (I checked their FB page to be sure), although I am not sure how it has evolved since.
Today I wish I could stay at home and blog my photos all day long. Here are pictures from another favourite city of mine – Taipei.
Udo Island is one of my favourite places in South Korea. Easily reached from Jeju Island via a ferry ride, it is great for a one-day cycling trip. The vehicle traffic volume is pretty low, so you don’ have to be a skilled cyclist to cycle there.
At this polytechnic in Kigali, students learn about welding, construction, carpentry etc, skills the Rwandan economy needs. It’s a pity that the centuria film I had in my camera didn’t fare so well here.
At this school in Kigali, I was merely an outsider with my 35mm lenses, snapping away, quite hastily on hindsight, in the precious block of time just before the sun took its glow with it.
