The Little Prince cafe

“One can only understand the things one tame,” said the fox. “Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy ready-made things in the shops. But since there are no shops where you can buy friends, men no longer have any friends. If you want a friend, tame me!”

… “But you must not forget it. For what you have tamed, you become responsible forever…”

A tiny exploration

F1010035

I took wayyy too long to post these pictures, taken some a year and more ago. This very intriguing cafe that you enter via the back alley, not front door, is almost a hole-in-the-wall (as it is quite often described of very small shop spaces these days) and you’ll miss it if you weren’t looking for it. That said, even if you have spotted the bright blue door in the alley and think you’ve won the battle, you might meet with a CLOSED sign that could very well ruin your little exploration. But go on, knock on it, and someone might actually open it and invite you in – like they did us.

A traditional breakfast

Some days I tire of the cafe food here, and all I really want is to sink my teeth into soft bread buttered and slapped with kaya (coconut jam). On this day, we walked into Chin Mee Chin Confectionery for the kind of breakfast we know best.
