This is where the famous love scene in Winter Sonata was filmed. It was so difficult to take a decent shot of the tree lane with so many people in it that I ended up with more pictures of the sky than ground.
I have quite a number of posts on Namiseom lined up for the blog, having taken about 2 rolls of film there. We had spent nearly a whole day on the island – enjoying the cool weather, admiring the trees, people-watching, squirrel-spotting. Afterwards, while sorting out my pictures, it occured to me that this (closeness to nature) was quite the ideal way to spend the weekend.
We had not planned on visiting Nasmiseom 남이섬, but an unforeseen circumstance that led to a gap in our itinerary gave us the option to. We had been so close to going back to our hostel for a nap – we slept little the night before and it was only 8-ish in the morning after all – but I am glad we decided to fight our sleepiness and land ourselves on the beautiful Namiseom. These are taken on the ferry en route to the island, best known to outsiders for being the filming site of a popular 2002 Korean drama series, Winter Sonata.
