(Canon A1)

There are many things I like about Kaohsiung, but Zi Zhu Village was the reason I wanted to visit the city in the first place. The village was rumoured to have moved, but we went there to find out for ourselves anyway. And there it was.

Previously an old military dependants’ village, it was saved from demolition by 2 university students who learnt of its fate. They embellished their yearnings and memories of gone days everywhere – using paint, old objects, and lots of imagination – and ended up turning the village into a colourful and nostalgic place.
