Day 2: 还是。。。雨天
The rain persisted into my second day in Taipei. I always thought that clouds could only hold that much rain, but I guess I was wrong.
It rained harder than the day before, and the air was chilly from the winds. I gave breakfast a miss and took bus number 910 to 三峡 instead. 三峡 老街 is a street in this traditional district with well-preserved architecture to tell of a once-prosperous commercial centre. I reached in just under half an hour.
I would like to stay here longer, but the weather really interfered with my walk. I gave in to it after an hour or so and returned to Taipei. With time on my side, I stopped by the famous 龙山庙 on my way to meet friends for afternoon tea.
The temple was stuffed with people despite the rain.
There is nothing like spending a leisurely afternoon with friends over tea (yes, risotto was part of our tea). We dined and chatted while it rained furiously outside, and till the afternoon resided. My flawed Mandarin turned me pink inside and out, but I had a priceless, wondrous afternoon, nevertheless.
